About the Author
EOS Inspector is made by Konstantin Pavlikhin, a longtime indie Mac-developer from Moscow, Russia. Konstantin is known for his passion for mountain bikes and building useful native macOS applications. He is probably one of those guys who doesn’t join the iOS crowd and still believes in productivity the good old Mac gives you when combined with proper apps.
The initial release of EOS Inspector has happened in 2014 with support for the most EOS cameras that existed back then. Since then the app helped more than a 100,000 people around the world to estimate health of their cameras. However, nothing lasts forever and Canon finally made some changes to their newer devices that rendered useless the method that EOS Inspector v1 used for getting a shutter actuations count. So, the time has come to develop a new version!
Meet the EOS Inspector v2! The app was re-implemented from scratch using the latest Apple technologies such as brilliant Swift. Huge amount of reverse-engineering and testing went into it and now EOS Inspector supports shutter information retrieval from all of the modern Canon EOS cameras like 1D X Mark II, 5D Mark IV and 5DS!
